Learning, expectation and musical pleasure: Supplementary Methods and amendment record

Measurement, analysis, implementation and the amendment record

Abstract

This supplement gives the measurement, modelling, statistical and data-collection methods for the integrated study dated 12 October 2026. It identifies decisions that are already specified, those to be settled in the pilot, and settings replaced from earlier drafts. Appendix A retains 35 original figures in 15 combined plates, with historical settings identified in their captions. Editable sources accompany the documents. A separate benchmark of language-model-assisted analysis is described as future work. No participant, neural, benchmark or system-validation results are reported.

Draft

Integrated prospective protocol and methods. Mobile instrument, measurement pilot, institutional approvals and final preregistration remain to be completed. No human results are reported. The current PDF is the version.

Original 3D mobile instrument with a 5-Hz illustrative signal and capacity-matched acoustic and MI representation diagrams.
Figure 3 · Measurement and matched learners. An original mobile-instrument drawing, a compact analytic measurement fixture and matched six-coordinate learners. Held responses and missing intervals remain distinct; the signal is illustrative.
